Garden Birdhouses for #tgifc358 & #PP581

Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by two challenges, TGIF #358 Color Challenge & The Paper Players Spring Theme Challenge from Jaydee, #581.  Please click on their blog images below to go directly to their blog posts.

Birds and nature inspire many of my cards and spring for us here near the Niagara Escarpment brings a wide variety of migrating birds.  I think the Gold Finches may stay all year,  but their feathers are a brownish colour in winter?  Either way, when I saw the color challenge from #tgifc358 I new I'd have a Gold Finch on my card.  And who doesn't love a Magenta birdhouse :)

Assembly & Trix:

*  The birdhouse and Gold Finches were first stamped with StazOn™ ink then water coloured.  The simple *Trix of using little washes of colour, add a realistic look to the images I think.   Garden Birdhouses, #155090

*  The second *Trix is to stamp the flowers at different heights across the bottom of the Pear Pizzazz layer to create a bit of visual dimension.

*  The scalloped circles were cut from the Layering Circles Dies, #151770 and popped up with dimensionals.  *Trix # 3 is to double stack the dimensionals under the one side of the Bumblebee sentiment to allow room for the Linen Thread.
