Celebrate the Paper

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper is luscious.  It's a combo of reds and pinks, whether you favour Real Red or Cherry Cobbler, the reds are swirled together with Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo in this beautiful paper.  It stands alone, I've just added a few hearts and viola - super simple cards!

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches, #659 to keep the placement of the hearts and sentiment clean lined and simple.

***  The Trix  ***

* Cut dsp to the size of the card front, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhere.  *Trix, change up the card base colours to enhance the colour within the dsp.  Cherry cobbler, Real Red, Melon Mambo or Flirty Flamingo.  I used a piece of dsp a smidge smaller for the Flirty Flamingo card base to pull out a bit more of the Flirty Flamingo from the lighter section of dsp.

*Trix, match the direction of the colourful swirls to the orientation of the card.  I wanted the colours to flow vertically on this portrait card. 

*  Cut out a variety of hearts using the various punches and dies you have on hand.  *Trix, I chose the Country Bouquet Punch because the whimsy and curvy lines seemed to fit with the swirly blotches of colour.

*  Adhere the hearts randomly but horizontally across the top third of the card.  

*  Stamp your favourite sentiment and adhere to the card with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the January 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I used Melon Mambo to match the card base and because its a wonderfully saturated colour for this style of font. 

*Embellish with Gold Twisted Thread, #164603 and whatever gold dots and sequins you have on hand, or the current Gold Textured Adhesive Backed Dots, #164027.  *Trix, add  various sizes and styles of gold embellishments to add interest while complimenting the gold droplets and blotches on the paper.

Valentines Love and A Little Latte Love

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Two cards, same measurments, different looks :)   Find the *Trix below to create this simple design and mix it up as you wish with different sentiments, punches or die cut images, dsp or textured layers.  Have fun, see how many different cards you can create with the same basic layout.

The first card uses the gorgeous Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper, (dsp), #164919, it's part of the Marbled Elegance Suite Collection, #164923 - it's an Online Exclusive Collection so you won't see it in a catalogue.  I love the paper!  I used some of it for Christmas tags, the combo of reds and pink are rich and luscious!

The second card features A little Latte DSP, #163453.  This dsp is currently on the Last Chance Products Category page of my Online Store.   As we welcome the new, some products will retire, so check the Last Chance list - which now replaces the 'Clearance Rack' to see the retiring & discounted products.  

***  The Trix  ***

*  Adhere a 2 7/8 x 5 1/2 piece of dsp to a complimentary 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of dsp, then adhere to the card base.  *Trix, use the Stampin' Glass Mat Studio #163987 or the Grid Paper, #130148, to line up the measurements and centre the dsp on the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base.    

*  Choose a sentiment and adhere to the centre of the card.  The 'love' comes from the January 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit, its stamped with Melon Mambo ink on Basic White cardstock and cut out with scissors.  The 'happy birthday' is from the retired Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set, stamped with Pretty Peacock ink on a 3/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock. 

**The 'Love Of Spring Dies', #164396 are currently available at a discount, this die set has a 'love' die cut - yay - no fussy cutting! 

*  Adhere your images above and below the sentiment.  The Valentines card uses the retired Country Bouquet Punch in Melon Mambo & Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  The coffee cups are from the retired Latte Love Dies, using Last Lagoon, Pool Party, & Pecan Pie cardstock.

**No punches or dies? - No Problem - Switch the 2 7/8 x 5 1/2 dsp for a layer of Basic White cardstock, stamp images at the top and bottom of the card, and pop up the sentiment with dimensionals for a bit of visual interest.

Bird's Eye View Stamp Set and Encircled In Nature Bundle

I love mixing up my stamps and bundles, truthfully I'm never quite sure if it'll work, but usually I just go for it.  The sentiment from the Encircled In Nature Stamp Set seems perfect for a birthday card and the person receiving this card loves birds, books and fun quirky little images.  The Bird's Eye View Stamp Set, #161436 is perfect for colouring and today was a colouring day for me :)

***  The Trix  *** 

*  Cut a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 layer of Melon Mambo cardstock and lay it over the card front, run them both through the SCEM at the same time with a circle die from the Encircled In Nature Dies, #163628.   The Encircled In Nature Stamp Set & Dies are available separately or as a bundle from the Online Exclusives section of my online store #163629 

*  Emboss the top layer with the Ornate 3D Floral Embossing Folder, it's a retired fave, then adhere the layer to the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base.  

*  Adhere the Basic White die cut onto the Melon Mambo layer, *Trix, apply tiny bits of glue to the outside edge of the die cut shape and allow to dry for a few moments to become tacky, then the glue won't spread out and accidentally stick to the inside of the card.

*  Adhere a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card.  Then close the card and stamp the sentiment through the circle.

*  Stamp the bird and balloon on a piece of Basic White cardstock, colour with Stampin' Blends and cut out with scissors.  I used Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo.

*  Adhere the bird and balloon with Stampin' Dimensionals, a piece of ribbon tucked in with a glue dot and a few little gems for fun.

Book Treat Boxes with Christmas Gift Cards

I do love me some cute little gift boxes :)   The Book Treat Boxes, #164048 were the perfect size for the Christmas gift card collection I put together this year.  I made an accordion style pull out using cardstock with some of my favourite dsp as a cover for the boxes.

***  The Trix  ***

*  The Book Treat Boxes fold together in a flash, they come in two pieces, a book flap layer and a box layer, when adhered together they'll look like a book. *Trix, to cover the flap with dsp fold the flap a bit to crease the edges then lay it on a 4 x 7 1/2 piece of dsp, glue down one side, fold the dsp around it, creasing the dsp and shaping it to fit the folds of the book spine.  Glue the second edge down, leaving the spine unglued.  Trim off the excess dsp with scissors. 

*Trix, the opener tab of the box has a strip of sticky tape, but if you want to be able to close and reopen the box, add a glue dot to the tab and tap it with a microfibre cloth to make is less sticky yet tacky enough to close and reopen.  

*  Cut a 11 x 3 3/8 piece or Real Red cardstock and score at 2 3/8, 4 3/4, 7 1/8, 9 1/2 to create and accordion fold.  Adhere your gift cards, I used folded over scotch tape for easy removal.  The accordion style gives you room to write a sentiment or adhere the gift receipt as well.
