TGIF Challenge #309 - Stamp Your Own DSP with Art Gallery stamp set

Hello and thanks for visiting today!  I'm happy to be playing along with this weeks TGIF Challenge, a Designer Takeover with Tanya Rees.  The challenge is to Stamp Your Own DSP.  I love this technique!

A couple weeks back I was trying to create a floral card with bold colours and a little bit of black mixed in.  I was inspired by a silk scarf with a mix of colours I wouldn't usually put together, but I love the scarf so I thought I'd challenge myself to create a card.  Then with this weeks TGIF Challenge I knew I had to play a bit more with the colours, pattern and the addition of embellishments.  I hope this card inspires you to try to combine different colours than you would usually choose, and play with pattern creation and see what you can create. I've attached my Facebook live video link at the bottom if you'd like a tutorial about creating your own dsp.

Please click on my card or the TGIF Challenge image below to go directly to the TGIF Challenge blog.

And here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Highland Heather card stock (4 1/4 x 11 folded in half)
3 3/4 x 5 Cinnamon Cider card stock layer
3 3/8 x 4 13/16 Basic White with homemade dsp
3/8 inch x 4 13/16 strip of homemade striped dsp layer
3/4 x 2 1/4 piece of Basic Black for the sentiment
3/4 x 2 3/4 piece of Cinnamon Cider for the accent
4 1/4 piece of Scalloped Lace Trim coloured with Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Marker
4 1/4 piece of Forever Greenery Trim coloured with Melon Mambo or Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends Markers

*  Create the dsp using the biggest Art Gallery flower.  I used 2nd generation Flirty Flamingo to get the light pink colour, 1st generation Magenta Madness & 2nd generation Cinnamon Cider.
Then I changed flowers and stamped the smaller image with Highland Heather ink and Memento Black ink for the smallest accent.

*  The 3/8 strip pf homemade dsp is created by drawing lines on Basic White card stock and then cutting off a strip of the stripes.  I used Dark then Light Melon Mambo,  Light Cinnamon Cider, Dark then Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Markers, then Black Stampin' Write Marker for a finer line.  Then I repeated the pattern.

*  The Basic Black piece has the Thank You from the Peaceful Moments stamp set heat embossed with White embossing powder.

***  And here's a few 'Trix' with the trim embellishments.  The trim pieces are coloured with Highland Heather and Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends Markers, because I didn't have Magenta Madness blends.  I cut both pieces to size after I decided where to place them on the card.  I frayed the ends of the Melon Mambo trim piece. The Rhinestones are coloured with the Light Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Marker.

Here is my Facebook Live video of how I stamped my own dsp.

Enjoy and have a super day!

Butterfly Brilliance & Many Messages for Freshly Made Sketches #478

Hello and thx for visiting today, I hope my card inspires you to create!  I was inspired by Jen T's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I felt like leaving the card simple with clean lines, and Blackberry Bliss was on my mind.  Please click on my card to go directly to the Freshly Made Sketches blog.  Also, you can click on their image and link directly to their blog.

Here's the card details:

5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Very Vanilla card base ( 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half)

1 x 4 1/4 Blackberry Bliss strip

1/2 inch x 4 1/4 Champagne Foil sheet strip

*   Glue the Champagne Foil strip to the Blackberry Bliss strip to leave an 1/8 of an inch line of glimmer along the top of the Blackberry Bliss strip, then adhere to the bottom of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

*  Stamp a butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set with Blackberry Bliss ink on Very Vanilla card stock.  Colour with Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Markers.

*  Stamp a sentiment from the Many Messages stamp set with Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out - my strip is 1/4 inch x 2 1/4 and adhere to card 3/4 of an inch above the Blackberry Bliss layer.

*  Die cut a Brilliant Wings Die in Very Vanilla and adhere to the Blackberry Bliss butterfly with Multipurpose Liquid Glue just in the centre at the body of the butterfly.  Then attach to the card by only gluing one side of the butterfly down.

Enjoy and have a super day!

The Spot Challenge #155 with Free As A Bird stamp set

Hello and thanks for visiting today.  Today's card was created with spring in mind.  The Spot Challenge for this week is called Spring has Sprung,  celebrating the joy of spring.  The challenge is to create a springtime card with a favourite spring stamp set.  For me, springtime means birds singing.  I love to hear birds singing every time I open my windows in spring.  Goldfinches come to the bird feeders in our yard, so I tried to create a colour pattern with our Stampin' Blends Markers similar to the changing colours I see on these birds in spring.  Please click on my card to go directly to The Spot Challenge blog.  You may also click on The Spot's image to go directly to their blog.

Here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Soft Sea Foam card base (4 1/4 x 11 folded at 5 1/2)
3 3/4 x 5 Pear Pizzaz layer
3 5/8 x 4 7/8 Thick Basic White with a Balmy Blue watercolour wash
*  Free As A Bird stamp set, stamped with Memento Black Ink then coloured with Stampin' Blends Markers in Light Daffodil Delight; Crumb Cake; Light Old Olive; Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo

Enjoy and have a super day!

The Paper Players Challenge 533 with Hey Chick & Hey Birthday Chick Bundles & Springtime Joy stamp set

Hello,  I have a super fun post for you today!  - It's the Paper Players Challenge #533 A Clean-and-Simple Challenge from Ann.   This is the first time I've joined the Paper Players Challenges, I'm inspired by the collection of talent!  Best of all its an animal challenge, oh so many choices, but I narrowed it down to my current fav Hey Chick  and company - ha!  Please click on my card  to go directly to the Paper Players 533 blog post.  As well you can click on their image to visit their site directly.  Enjoy!

I just love the attitude from the adult hen, totally checking our her brood.  When I saw a similar expression of attitude on the little chick from Springtime Joy I knew I had to make a card with the two of them.

Here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Thick Basic White card base (4 1/4 x 11 folded in half)

*  The flowers from Springtime Joy are stamped with Memento Black Ink and then coloured with Purple Posy Stampin' Blends Markers.

*  Next I cut one section of fence directly out of the card base where the flowers were stamped, using the Birthday Chick Dies.  This section will be adhered with dimensionals as the final step of the card.

*  Two other pieces of Basic White fencing are die cut.

*** Here's the 'Trix' with this one.  I glued one white fence piece into the opening from the first fence piece (the one with flowers), onto a piece of Basic White card stock glued to the back of the card front.  I did this so that the egg and baby chick could be glued onto a white piece of card, and so that there isn't a hole in the card where the fence was, which would be visible when the card is open.

*  The Hey Chick  &  Hey Birthday Chick stamp images are coloured,  die cut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I used Stampin' Blends Markers in Ivory, Rococo Rose, Dark Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight.

*  The little chick from Springtime Joy is coloured with Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers and the sentiment is stamped with Rococo Rose then fussy cut out.

*  The last step is to adhere the fence, raised on dimensionals  adding interest and dimension.

*  The fence is a Champagne Foil Sheet

*  Colours as follows:  Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo; Petal Pink; Calypso Coral

*  I used Stampin' Blends Markers to for colouring

*  The Happy Birthday is a layer each of Petal Pink and Calypso Coral just offset a bit

Fab Friday 209 with Positive Thoughts & Springtime Joy stamp sets

Hello and thank you for visiting!  Today's card is inspired by a Fab Friday Sketch #209.  Please click on my card or their blog image to go directly to their site and prepare to be inspired!

I live near the Niagara Escarpment in Canada, my card is inspired by one of my favourite birds, the Red Tailed Hawk.  They like to build their nests in tall trees and sometimes crevices in the escarpment wall.  While the card ended up being a mashup of supplies, I hope it inspires you to take something from it and create a springtime card.

Here's the card details

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake card base ( 4/1/4 x 11 folded in half)

*  A square of Shimmery White card stock with a Balmy Blue watercolour wash.  **This is for the inside of the card so it doesn't matter the size, I think mine was a 3 x 3 square.

***Here's the visual 'trix' for this card.  I wanted the nest to have some dimension, but instead of using dimensionals on the front of the card to raise the square with the nest, I cut out a square from the card front and sunk the watercolour wash square within the card.  I used dimensionals on the watercolour wash square and adhered it to the back of the card front, please see the picture below.

1.  Stamp feathers from the Positive Thoughts stamp set on the card front.  I wanted the the feather to have a reddish tip, so I stamped first with Cinnamon Cider, wiped off the tip of the feather and then dabbed on Cajun Craze ink.

2.  Cut out the card front square using the 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 square from the Stitched Shapes Framelets dies.

3.  Stamp the watercolour wash square with branches, I used the branches from the Nature's Beauty stamp set to create the look of a nest.

4.  Line up the inside square with the card front and carefully stamp a feather to visually line up with a feather from the card front.  I wanted the nest to have feathers lining it but I also wanted to created a sense of depth an dimension.

5.  The eggs are cut from the Chick Dies and randomly glued down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

6.  The Cinnamon Cider greeting is from Springtime Joy stamp set and cut out by hand to get the two banner placement as per the sketch.

7.  The bling is Rhinestones coloured with Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Markers.

Enjoy and have a super day!

#TGIFC308 - Inspiration Challenge with Positive Thoughts Stamp Set & Nature's Thoughts Dies

Hello and thx for visiting today!  The TGIFChallenge this week inspires us with a watercolour wash, florals, and beautiful colours, so much to choose from!  My choice is all of it!  :)

Please click on my card to go directly to the TGIFChallenge blog and soak in all the inspiration.  You can also click on the TGIFChallenge image to visit their blog.

And did you know the centre of this little flower has a die that creates raised bits, just like the Hydrangea Dies, in the Mini Catalogue, they're tiny, but they're there :)

Here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Granny Apple Green card base

*  Nature's Thoughts Dies create the rectangle with a Balmy Blue watercolour wash.

*  The Positive Thoughts stamp set and Nature's Thoughts dies create the beautiful little bouquet at the base of the card, using Granny Apple Green, 1st & 2nd generation stamping, and Rich Razzleberry 2nd generation stamping

*  The butterfly is from the same set stamped in Memento Black ink then coloured with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers

* The sentiment is stamped with Rich Razzleberry 2nd generation stamping too

***  1st & 2nd generation stamping refers to the intensity of ink.  When first inked up, the stamp leaves the full intensity ink on the paper, immediately stamping again will leave a little less colour.  This is also referred to as "stamping off"

Freshly Made Sketches #477 with Springtime Joy stamp set

Hello and thank you for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by The Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #477, a super fun 4x4 card.  I love 4x4 cards because they're so neat and easy to create in multiples.  This sketch was unique because of the diagonal line through it.  Please click on my card to go directly to the Freshly Made Sketches blog for this week.  As well you can click on the Freshly Made Sketches image to visit their blog.  Great inspiration awaits!

Here's the card details:

8 x 8 Sahara Sand card stock folded at 4 inches

4 inch piece of Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper, (dsp)

2 1/2 x 2 inch piece of Basic White card stock stamped with the lamb from Springtime Joy stamp set.  I coloured the Lamb with Stampin' Blends Markers in Crumb Cake light and dark, Flirty Flamingo light and dark & Granny Apple Green light and dark.

2 x 3/4 inch piece of Basic White card stock stamped with the greeting "Welcome Spring" using Flirty Flamingo ink

Two 6 1/2 inch pieces of Scalloped Lace Trim

To assemble:

*  First I glued the ribbon to the dsp.  I suggested longer pieces so that it is easier to line up the edge precisely and then snip off the remaining ribbon.  I drew a diagonal line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue from corner to corner on the dsp, and then laid the seam edges together.   This left the scalloped edges unglued to add a bit of dimension to the card.

*  Colour the lamb and attach the stamped greeting to the backside of the lamb image with Multipurpose Liquid Glue so that the two pieces measure 2 1/2 inches wide.  You then have a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square to attach to the 4 inch piece of dsp with Stampin' Dimensionals.

*  Glue the dsp to the folded Sahara Sand card stock and smile at your creation :)

Enjoy and have a Super Day!

#GDP283 Global Design Project #283 - Theme Challenge - Treats with Ice Cream Parlor dsp & Happiest of Birthdays stamp set

Hello, thx so much for visiting!  The Global Design Project (GDP) for this past week was a Theme Challenge - Treats!  I discovered I don't have many "treat" or food related stamp sets, (that will need to change with the new catty ;)   ha )  Anyway, I decided to use the fabulous Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper (dsp) and play along.  This paper has been a go to for me for weeks now - the paper literally does all the work - it is a luscious treat!

Stampin' UP!® (SU) is always challenging us to create "Simple Stamping Projects"  easily replicatable projects.   This month SU challenged us to use Stamps (S); Ink (I); Paper (P) = SIP & Designer Series Paper - so hello Ice Cream Parlor dsp! and #simplestamping

Here's the card details:

5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Blackberry Bliss card stock (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half to create a landscape orientation)

*  Blackberry Bliss stripe dsp, first layer, 4 1/8 x 3 3/4

* Ice cream cone layer dsp, second (top) layer, 3 7/8 x 4 1/4

* Sentiment is from "Happiest of Birthdays" stamp set on a 1 x 3 inch strip using Blackberry Bliss ink

* The Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon is folded twice and adhered to the back of the sentiment strip and then attached to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals

* The bling is the gorgeous Artistry Blooms Sequins

Enjoy & have a super day!

The Spot Challenge 154 - CASE the Designer Dena Rekow with Art Gallery & Peaceful Moments stamp sets

Hello and thanks for visiting!  Todays post is for The Spot's Challenge 154, CASE the Designer, Dena Rekow.  Please click on my card to go directly to The Spot's blog Challenge 154 and prepare to be inspired!  Also, please see the image for The Spot, you can also click on it, to visit their site.

I love inspiration challenges because we can use whatever inspires us and run with it.  I love Dena's use of flowers and mix of black with bold colours.  I decided to use the bold images from the Art Gallery  stamp set and subtly add black throughout the card.  The dsp is homemade :)  I have a silk scarf with these colours, honestly I wouldn't naturally put these colours together but somehow they just work, so I challenged myself to use the same colours on a card.

    Here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Highland Heather Card base

3 3/4 x 5 Cinnamon Cider layer

3 5/8 x 4 7/8 Basic Black layer

3 9/16 x 4 13/16 Basic White with pattern

*I started by making a pattern on Basic White using Flirty Flamingo (stamp off once); Melon Mambo; Cinnamon Cider (stamp off once) Highland Heather and Memento Black inks.

*The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments and is heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Here is the picture with my scarf, what do you think, similar?

The other card has Cinnamon Cider blended between the flowers, which do you like better?

Butterfly Brilliance & Heal Your Heart stamp sets with Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper

Hello & thx for visiting today :)

Today's card came together quickly with the new Butterfly Brilliance Bundle & Just Jade cardstock.  I've been using Just Jade much more lately, maybe because I'm eager for spring :)  I had to add the sentiment from Heal Your Heart, because that is just what fit.  Although its a newly retired Sale-a-bration stamp set, the sentiments are perfect, and I will go back to this one throughout the year I think.

Here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Just Jade Card base (4 1/4 x 11 folded at 5 1/2)

The background is stamped with Just Jade, carefully inking three of the five butterflies of the single stamp, then angling it on the card front.  I used my Stamparatus for this simply because I love using my Stamparatus, especially for the large stamps.

The single butterfly was cut out of the Butterfly Bijou paper using the Brilliant Wings dies.  Then a piece of Just Jade was cut out with the detailed die that fits with this butterfly.

I stamped the 'sorry for your loss' with Just Jade on a 3/4 inch piece of Basic White card stock and cut it to fit the card front with the butterfly in place.  I'm sorry I can't remember the length as I've already mailed the card - maybe 3 1/4, you'll know, just use the "Squint Technique" :) and choose what looks right to you :)

The butterfly from the paper is glued onto the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then the detailed Just Jade butterfly is raised slightly using Mini Glue Dots that I rolled to give a bit of lift.    The sentiment is raised on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The 'bling' is Pearl Basic Jewels.  And voila!

What is your favourite green?  Please leave me a comment and let me know!  Thx so much for visiting and have a super day!

#TGIFC307 Sketch Challenge with Waterfront, Nothing's Better Than & Many Messages stamp sets

Hello, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Thx so much for visiting!

I hope you're inspired by today's card.  I was inspired by a Stampin' Up! ® short little video about using Stampin' Blends Markers to create a wash of colour.  Please click on my card to visit  TGIFChallenge # 307, there is so much inspiration on this blog!  Better yet - create a card using this beautifully versatile sketch!

Here is the image for this weeks  TGIFChallenge.  Click on the image to visit their blog.

And here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Coastal Cabana card base  (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2)

4 1/8 x 5 3/8 Coastal Cabana card layer embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder

* The circles were created by colouring a piece of Basic White card stock with Stampin' Blends Markers.  I simply layered stripes of colours, then cut the circles using the Stitched Shapes Framelets dies.  I used Bermuda Bay Dark, Bermuda Bay Light, Pool Party Dark, Pool Party Light & Balmy Blue Light.  Then I lined up the circles as best I could and glued them down using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

* The palm trees on an island in the distance, were created with the Waterfront stamp set using Early Expresso and Pear Pizzaz ink.

* The cocktail is from the Nothings's Better Than stamp set coloured with Flirty Flamingo. Petal Pink, Dafodill Delight, Purple Posy & Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers.  It was cut out using the Nothing's Better Than dies and popped up using dimensionsls.

* The Happy Anniversary is from the Many Messages stamp set in Bermuda Bay and layered on a 1/2 inch strip of Basic White.  I created the strip, that I hope looks like a little shelf, by cutting a 1/2 inch strip on an angle.  The pattern for the wood shelf is from the Whisky Business stamp set - just 'cause I've been wanting to try to create a shelf out of this neat little stamp.  I stamped it first with Soft Suede and then coloured it with the Bronze Stampin' Blend Marker.  But you could use any piece of wood patterned paper from the In Good Taste dsp and cut an angle to create the look of a little shelf.

Enjoy and Have a Super Day!

Here is my 6x6  Wrap Around Notecard

For todays card I wanted to showcase our 6x6 designers series paper (dsp) and our notecards.  There are 48 sheets of gorgeous paper in these little packs, 12 different designs, 4 pieces of each design - that's a lot of creative options!  I often grab a notecard when I want to send a quick card, with the addition of this paper you have a card in minutes.

Here's the card details & the trix & tips:

* Start with a notecard and cut an inch off the front side - don't be afraid to cut up the card, it is thick cardstock and a perfect 1 inch piece ready for a sentiment in future use, or on the same card if you choose.
* Here's the twist, cut an inch off the bottom of the 6x6 dsp, (keep it for future use, perhaps a scrappy strip technique card)  so that it matches the 5 inch size of the notecard.  Wrap the 6x5 dsp completely around the notecard, the paper will need a bit of 'give' at the fold line, so line it up with the back side of the card and let it fall into place on the front - you will probably have an 1/16 of an inch smidge of white on the front edge.  To assist the dsp to find its fold you can gently score it at 2 1/2.  Let it rest and fall into place and then use your bone folder to crease it once you have it lined up.
* I choose to put Mutipurpose Liquid Glue on the three open edges of the back of the notecard, and not glue at the fold line - it helps to evenly line up the dsp with the notecard.  Then I add glue to the front three open sides of the notecard, again avoiding the fold line so the dsp can settle in place.
*Stamp your sentiment on the visible inside side strip of the notecard or add a strip of complementary paper to the inside and highlight the dsp.

Here are a few others that I've made with our 6x6 dsp pack.

Freshly Made Sketches # 476 with Free As A Bird stamp set on Watercolour Paper

 Hello and thx for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by the Sketch Challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Please click on the image to go directly to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog FMS476

I love watercolouring!  When I saw this sketch I thought of blending the angle lines.  I hope my card inspires your creativity.

Here is the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Soft Sea Foam card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored and folded at 5 1/2)

3 3/4 x 5 Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper

* Using Water Painters thoroughly cover the top half of both the front and back of the  the Fluid 100 watercolour paper.

* Apply a stripe of Early Expresso; Old Olive & Balmy Blue and let the paper do the magic of blending the colours.  One tip I have with  watercolouring is to just let it happen, let the colours blend and add your image wherever it fits best.

* Stamp the birds using Memento Black ink and fussy cut out.  I used Stampin' Blends Markers to colour the birds in Granny Apple Green; Soft Sea Foam; Daffodil Delight & Petal Pink.  The rest of the image was coloured with Old Olive; Crumb Cake; Bronze; Flirty Flamingo & Petal Pink.  It was difficult to fussy cut super close to the image so my trick is to colour the remaining white with Balmy Blue so that it fades into to background.  Then pop up the image up with dimensionals.

* The Sentiment is stamped in Early Expresso, fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals  as well.

Enjoy & have a super day!

The Spot Challenge 153 - Sketch Challenge with Nature's Beauty stamp set and Stitched Shapes dies

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog!

Today's card was inspired by The Spot Challenge 153, a sketch challenge for this week.  Please click on The Spot image below to go directly to their site and prepare to be inspired.

Click on the image to visit The Spot Challenge

Here is my entry for this week, you can also click on the card to visit The Spot's Challenge blog.

Here's the details of the card:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2)
4 1/8 x 5 3/8 Basic White layer
* The little bunny is from Nature's Beauty stamp set coloured with Crumb Cake & Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers
* The grass is stamped in Granny Apple Green with varing intensity
* The 'thank you' is from Free As A Bird stamp set stamped in Soft Suede ink

Trix & Tips:
* I used the Stitched Shapes dies to cut two circles after I stamped grass around the bunny, so that when the outside circle is raised on dimensionals the grass will have visual dimension too.
* The fluffy nest the bunny is sitting on is thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, I simply pulled a loose thread and then bunched it up adhering it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the bottom of the bunny circle.
*The gold twine is from the greenery trim pack as well and I just laid it around the bunny and then when I added the top circle with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals the dimensionals stuck it down.
* The thank you is glued to the outside frame of the circle with a tiny piece of dimensional close to the bunny so it won't bend.
* The bling is the Rhinestone Basic Jewels coloured with the Bronze Stampin' Blend Marker

Enjoy, and have a super day!

#GDP282 Global Design Project Sketch Challenge with Nothing's Better Than & Make A Difference stamp sets & Love You More Than dies

Hello and thx for visiting!  I have a fun card for you today - a sketch from the Global Design Project (GDP).   This is a super fun sketch, there are so many possibilities my mind was spinning with options.  However, because St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and I do love a good Irish Coffee, I had to make this card.  Please click on my card to go directly to the GDP282 challenge and prepare to be inspired!

Please click on the card to visit the GDP282 challenge

Here's the card details:
* 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 portrait card base in Just Jade, (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2)
* 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Subtle Textured Embossing Folder in Just Jade
* 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White strip for coffee cups.  I used a combination of Just Jade, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana and played with the intensity of colour by stamping off for some of the filler colours.  I popped this layer up on dimensionals, and added dimensionals to one cup.
* 7/8 x 4 Basic White strip for the Irish Coffee layer.  The 'Irish' was created using the Make A Difference stamp set in Just Jade.  The Just Jade 'Coffee' was cut using the Love You More Than Dies
* 3/16 x 4 Basic White strip with a Just Jade stamped sentiment from Nothing's Better Than stamp set.  The words were stamped separately to create a line of words and I used my Stamparatus to line them up.

I hope I've inspired you to create a fun card!
Thx so much for visiting today and have a super day!

*As I began creating I realized I didn't have everything I 'thought' I needed to create the card, so I switched up my initial plan.  I don't have Stampin' Write or Stampin' Blends Markers in these colours, instead I used Sponge Daubers and post it notes to colour the font in the three colours.  The Stamparatus helped to ensure even ink coverage.
*The chicks were stamped with Memento Black Ink  and I used Blender Pens to colour the hats and the chicks.
* 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White card base with a 3 7/8 x 5 3/8 Basic White card layer.

Here is the first card, which do you prefer?

Enjoy & have a super day!

Kylie's International Blog Hop - Campology & Free As A Bird stamp sets

Hello, thx for visiting!

Today's post is for Kylie's International Highlights Blog Hop.  If you like my card I'd love for you to vote for me, if I'm one of the winners I will join Kylie's International Blog Hop at the end of the month - oh so much inspiration!     *Please click on the vote for me button below to go directly to Kylies's International Highlights gallery and vote by clicking on the little heart in the top right corner of my card :) thx so much!

I love this sentiment in the Campology stamp set, and I love combining fonts, so I chose the 'thank you' from the Free As A Bird stamp set.

I hope this card inspires you to create something beautiful and send it to someone to brighten their day :)

Here's the card details:

The sentiment is on a 1 x 2 3/8 piece of Basic White with a smidge of the lantern base, then raised on dimensionals to align with the base of the lantern.

The three accent strips of dsp are from the In Good Taste dsp pack.  Both banners are punched with the Banner Triple punch and measure  3/4 x 4 1/4 & 3/4 x 4.  The top strip is 1/4 x 4 1/4.

I stamped the lantern in Memento Black Ink and used a sponge dauber with So Saffron to colour the lantern, then used Blending Brushes to create a soft glow around the lantern on a 3 15/16 x 5 3/16 Basic White layer.

The card is placed on a 4 x 5 1/14 Basic Black layer then on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic Gray card base.

Enjoy & have a super day!

 Hello, thx for visiting!

I am excited to participate in a brand "new to me" inspirational challenge!  "The Spot" creative challenge is a photo challenge this week.  I knew the moment I saw the picture I had to participate.  I have an antique chair this very same colour and while I don't own the Simply Succulents stamp set I hoped I could create a similar effects with the Art Gallery stamp set.  How did I do?   I used Just Jade, Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and So Saffron.

Please click on the photo to go directly to "The Spot" blog

GDP#281 - Colour Challenge with Art Gallery & Dragonfly Garden stamp sets & Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper

Hello and welcome!  Thx for visiting today.

The Global Design Project (GDP) challenge is a Colour Challenge this week, using Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride.  And I found this challenge to be a bit difficult, why ? I'm not sure, maybe because I don't gravitate to this colour combination naturally? or maybe because I don't even own a Real Red ink pad  :)  What! yes that’s correct, I don’t own a Real Red ink pad, (I’m more of a Cherry Cobbler girl)  Whatever the reason, its precisely why I'm participating in this challenge -  to expand my creativity and have fun!

Please click on the card to be taken to the Global Design Project #281 post and prepare to be inspired with the creativity!

Here's the details for this card:

Blushing Bride 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.

Love Always Specialty Designer Series Paper cut in two pieces,  1 1/2 x 5 1/2  & 1 1/2 X 4 1/2   *** and here's my side note ***  this awesome paper has a pattern repeat, do you think my brain could get the measurements correct today? - no! Ugghh  - my trix for this one is cut your smaller piece first, line it up with a bigger piece of paper, find the pattern repeat and then cut the bigger piece to the 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 size.  Does that make sense?  If not email me :)    I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue for the first strip then used dimensionals to pop up the smaller strip and match the pattern on the paper.

The Art Gallery stamped flower is actually stamped with Blushing Bride and coloured with Bermuda Bay & Real Red Stamp n' Write Markers.  I also used my Blender Pens to smoosh the colour a bit in spots - total personal preference.  The Thank You is from the Art Gallery stamp set - so many lovely messages in this set.

The twine is our Linen Thread, and I coloured it using the Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Marker.

The Bermuda Bay dragonfly is from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set  and punched out with the Dragonflies Punch.

Later I decided to top the dragonfly with Wink of Stella.  This gorgeous paper is a bit difficult to photograph to get just the right amount of shimmer, without overpowering the card.  In person, the dsp just gives a depth of colour and dimension but the flower and dragonfly are the star.  Hard to know which to enter in GDP #281  Which photograph do you like better?  Please leave me a comment and I'll send you a card :)

Enjoy & have a super day!
