Nature's Beauty & Art Gallery for #FMS524

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Well I'm 'thinking of you spring'  in my paper crafting lately.   It's beautiful and sunny here in Niagara -6 Celsius with lots of snow on the ground.  However, I am looking forward to seeing some signs of spring, so a bouquet of tulips found their way into my grocery cart this weekend, I guess I need flowers as much as food, ha!

I created today's card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #524.  Cécile has offered this inspiration sketch for us to try.  Please click on either my card or the #FMS524 image to visit their blog post directly and enjoy the inspiration!

Assembly & Trix:

*  To create the raised 2 x 2 square focal image, pop it up on dimensionals.  But the first Trix, is to use the Stamparatus™ (#146276)  Place the 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White on the Stamparatus™ with the 2 x 2 inch piece on top.  Stamp the bunny with Memento Ink and stamp the shrubs and grass with Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz.  Then carefully remove the 2 x 2 square and stamp the shrubs and grass again for a crisp image.  (Nature's Beauty Stamp Set #150528)

*  Add a bit of Pool Party ink with a blending brush to the 2 x 2 square.

*  Adhere the Basic White layer to a Pear Pizzazz layer a smidge bigger, a 16th of an inch bigger for a slight frame, then adhere it to the Basic White Thick card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

*  The White Frayed Ribbon, #158138 frays super easily.  *** Trix, cut the ribbon in half lengthwise and then pull the threads along the cut edge.  Stamp the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz ink and adhere to the ribbon with glue.  (Art Gallery Stamp Set #158201)

Nature's Beauty & Easter Friends for #HSSIC383

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #383.  This is such a beautifully versatile sketch, I love using a tag as the focal point for the image and sentiment.  The fabulous *free Designer Series Paper is great for spring cards, and only available until Feb 28th.

Please click on either my card or the #HSSIC383 image to visit their blog post for this challenge and enjoy the inspiration!

Click my card to visit the #HSSIC383 Sketch Challenge

Assembly & Trix:

*  There's really no Trix with this card, what you see is what you get.  The Polished Pink layer is a smidge bigger than the Daffodil Afternoon DSP which measures 4 x 4 1/4, then adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, (glue) to a Basic Black standard card base.

*  The *** Trix with the label is to cut two Tailor Made Tags, #155563, the same size, and adhere together with glue slightly off to one side, similar to the border on the sides of the DSP .  The tags are Polished Pink and Very Vanilla cardstock.

*  The bunny from Nature's Beauty, #150528 and the sentiment from Easter Friends, #157737 are stamped with Memento Black Ink.

*  The last *** Trix is to cut the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon, #155714 lengthwise, before trying in a bow, to create a thinner Pink ribbon, again similar to the border around the dsp and tag.

*  The Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots, 158146 add a subtle bling to the tag.

Artfully Layered Stamp Set & Waves Dies for #sttcchallenge

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is created for the Stampin' Through The Catalog Challenge showcasing the Artfully Composed Suite, #157765.  The design team encourages us to mix it up and add in other elements, so I've added in the new label die from the Waves Dies within the Waves Of The Ocean Collection, #161797.

Assembly & Trix:

*  The Tropical Layers Dies #157760 (within the Suite) were used to create the  background pattern.  The palm leaf die was cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock.  A *** Trix with the Soft Sea Foam die cut layer is to keep the pieces intact and adhere them to the Basic White cardstock layer with glue.

*  Stamp the 'hey there' sentiment with Granny Apple Green ink and die cut with the label from the Waves Dies.

*  The *** Trix, with the Linen Thread #104199 is to weave it through the label, around both Basic White layers and tie it in a loop adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.  Then adhere it to the Sahara Sand card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Dragonfly Garden & Art Gallery Stamp Sets Bokeh Technique

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by three challenges, and a desire to try the Bokeh technique :)  Please click on the image links below and visit each challenge blog.  Enjoy the inspiration and then go and create yourself a card :)

First I was inspired by Fusion - Colour Palette: Birds Challenge, I loved the focal point of circles at the top of the card.  And, I wanted to push myself to try and use the colours together.

Second, the #GDP331 Theme Challenge this week is Dots & Circles.  I was so inspired by the creations from the design team I decided to finally try the Bokeh technique to create the circles.

Third, the Paper Player Challenge #579 theme is Wild about Wildlife.  I'm not sure my card fits with the Clean And Simple Challenge focus this week, but at this point everything was coming together in my brain and I just had to create a Bokeh garden of flowers with a Dragonfly :)

Assembly & Trix:

*  Create a Bokeh technique using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie & Merry Merlot ink, blending with Blending Brushes to achieve different depths of colour.  *** Click here to see the Pinterest Idea Pin and learn how to create the Bokeh technique.

*  Stamp the dragonfly with Merry Merlot ink and add a bit more ink with blending brushes.

*  Stamp the sentiment with Merry Merlot and cut out.  *** Trix, save 1/4 scrap strips of Basic White cardstock and use for a quick sentiment strip, then just cut to desired length.

*  Adhere the Bokeh piece to piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock a 'smidge' bigger (1/16th of an inch) with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Glue the dragonfly and sentiment to the Bokeh layer and adhere to the Merry Merlot card base with dimensionals.

*** Click here to shop.  And please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your order is between $60 - $135 and then I can send you a little thank you in the mail the following month with your thank you card.  February's Host Code is NZTFGAXF

Garden Birdhouses for #jai591 Sketch Challenge

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by a sketch from the Just Add Ink Challenge Blog - and the backyard birds we feed in winter!  Today it's sunny, cold and snowy here.  We have snow shower clouds moving through a sunny sky, it's quite beautiful :)  I hope my card inspires you to create today.

Please click on either my card or the #jai591 image to visit their blog and enjoy the inspiration!

Assembly & Trix:

*  The little red Cardinal is coloured with Real Red Stampin' Blends Markers and sits on the edge of the birdhouse coloured with Crumb Cake Blends.  A little 'Trix' - cut a piece from the Beautiful Trees die, #155840 to create a branch.

*  The scalloped square is really a scalloped rectangle die from the Scalloped Contours Dies, #155560.  The 'Trix' is to send it through the SCEM a second time to create a square.

*  The Real Red 'Hello' is from the Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set, #155090  and die cut using the Layering Circles Dies, #151770

*  The Wintry 3D Embossing Folder provides texture to the Basic White cardstock layer.

Free As A Bird for #FMS523

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by Jen's Sketch Challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.   I'm not real sure if it fits the sketch but these little birds were in my thoughts when I saw the sketch so I started to create, and this is what I came up with :)

Please click on either my card or the #FMS523 image below and enjoy the inspiration - then go make a card - it's Saturday my friends :)

Click my card to visit #FMS523 Challenge

Assembly & Trix:

*  There's really no Trix to this card, other than the simple Trix of using the colours in the Designer Series Paper to colour the image.  The birds are coloured with Stampin' Blends Markers in Petal Pink, Pale Papaya & Calypso Coral.

*  The Basic White  image layer measures 3 1/2 x 3 1/4, and the You're A Peach Designer Series Paper #155686 measures 3 3/4 x 4 1/2.  I used a Basic White Layer behind the DSP that's a smidge bigger, a 16th of an inch.  Everything is glued to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Calypso Coral card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

*  The little Calypso Coral 'thank you' is from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set #149468 as well, and surrounded by Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels # 151193.

Friendly Hello for #GDP330 #PP578 #SUOC295

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is for three challenges!  The Global Design Project Challenge #330 provides a super great sketch challenge for the card layout.  The Paper Players #578 Challenge was to use So Saffron, Mint Macaron & Bermuda Bay on a card.  And finally a new challenge for me called the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge (SUOC)  #295, was to Heat Emboss.  Please click on their images below to visit their challenge blogs and soak in the inspiration!

*  The flowers from the *free Sale-A-Bration  Friendly Hello Stamp Set are heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder on a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 Shimmery White cardstock layer.

*  The flowers are then water coloured with So Saffron and the leaves with Mint Macaron.  The colour will resist the embossed areas, leaving colour just on the Shimmery cardstock, to create a delicate design.

*  Bermuda Bay is added as the all over colour, and you'll notice the depth of colour changes throughout creating an interesting water colour background.

*  The watercoloured layer is adhered to a 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 So Saffron cardstock layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue), then added to the Mint Macaron embossed layer with dimensionals.

*  The Mint Macaron Layer is embossed first with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder #156505 and adhered to a Mint Macaron card base with glue.

*  The ribbon detail is the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim #149593 coloured with a Mint Macaron Stampin' Blend Marker and adhered with glue dots.  The Art Gallery Stamp Set #154421 sentiment is stamped in Mint Macaron and adhered with dimensionals.

Abstract Beauty Cards & Envelopes for Last Minute Valentine's

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was created for a friend, and I'm hoping she's received it in the mail before I post my card on Social Media :)  I used the fabulous Nuts & Bolts Stamp Set and knew I wanted to fuss with figuring out how the little robot could be holding the heart.  So. I reached for an Abstract Beauty card for the card base.

The envelopes match! love it!  The heart is die cut from the Bouquet Of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder.

Assembly & Trix:

*  Stamp two robots and the sentiment on scrap Basic White cardstock with Memento Black Ink.  Colour the robot with Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers and fussy cut everything out.

*  Die cut the Magenta heart and attach to the robot with glue.  ***Trix, to create the robot 'holding' the heart, use the arms from the  2nd stamped robot, overlap, align and glue them on the robot and heart.  This may take some fiddling, but Multipurpose Liquid Glue is terrific to move the heart and arms into place.

*  Adhere everything to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

*** Click here to shop the supplies to create this card.  And please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your shopping cart is between $60 - $135.  Then I can send you a little thank you in the mail next month with your thank you card.  February's Host Code is NZTFGAXF

Assembly & Trix:

*  Score the Flirty Flamingo card base at 2 1/8 on the left side of the 8 1/2 side and 2 1/8 on the right side.  Fold the flaps in so they meet in the middle .  The card base is now 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

*  Cut the DSP in half to create 2 pieces 5 3/8 x 2 1/16 and adhere to the card flaps with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue)

*  Emboss & Die Cute the Flirty Flamingo scrap with the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder #157641

*  Adhere one side of a heart to the left flap so it over laps the right flap but is not glued to it.  Do the same with the right flap.

*  Stamp the greeting inside, so it's 'revealed' as the gate fold opens, or stamp a greeting to the outside, your choice.

Easter Friends for #FMS522

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is for Kim's sketch challenge over at the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge Blog.  Please click on either my card or the #FMS522 image and enjoy the inspiration.

The only stamp set used for this card is Easter Friends, #157737 from the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue.  The Pool Party square is created with Blending Brushes and the little chick is coloured with Stampin' Blends Markers.

The little gems in the grass hopefully look like early spring flowers peeking up, (can you tell I'm looking forward to an early spring :)  They are from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels #15557 pack.

When I first saw this sketch I thought of creating a little square with blending brushes, and I knew I wanted to use the chick.  However it took some thinking to figure out the horizontal shape as per the sketch.  I tried ribbon, considered twine and then settled on lines created with the Simply Scored® Scoring Tool #122334.  Yep, I think last weeks sketch idea was still rolling around in my head - ha.   The scoring blade on the Paper Trimmer does work, and sometimes is the best depending on where the lines are on the card.  For this card tho' I wanted a deeper impression and the card layer lined up perfectly on the scoring tool.
