Lovely You Hearts for 3 Challenges

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's Valentines card is inspired by the Wear Red Day (which for me is Valentines day :) Inspo List over @ Festive Friday, the Theme Challenge over @ Global Design Project, all pulled together with Joanne's super Sketch Challenge over @ The Paper Players.  Please click the hyperlinks to visit the challenge blogs and enjoy the inspiration - then go make a card for your Valentine :)

***  The Trix  ***

*  Create a shiny, red, love filled sentiment - Do you know if you stamp with coloured ink on Vellum you can sprinkle on Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it for a shiny, red sentiment?  Yes, Cherry Cobbler and other ink colours, take awhile to dry on vellum - so splash on some embossing powder and make it shiny!

*  Hide the glue - Design the card first on vellum before adhering to the Basic White cardstock layer.  *Trix* cut the vellum a smidge smaller than the 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" Basic White layer, and heat emboss it.  Adhere the hearts, ribbon and rhinestones on the vellum.  Flip the vellum layer over, add glue where the hearts, ribbon & rhinestones are and then adhere to the Basic White layer.

*  Find love sentiments in your existing stamp sets - The Lovely You Stamp Set, #152525 is not a Valentines stamp set, but I think the sentiment is perfect for Valentines.

*  Repeat the colours - pick up the black from the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, #156485 with a 3 7/16" x 4 9/16" layer of Basic Black cardstock to frame the Basic White and Vellum layer.  Adhere to the Cherry Cobbler 4 1/4" x 5 1/2 " card base.

*  The Cherry Cobbler hearts are from the Country Bouquet Punch, #160382.  The Rhinestone Basic Jewels, #144220 are coloured with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker, #154880.

Indescribable Gift for #rrcb199

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was created for the Tickled Pink Challenge #199 over @ Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  My card was chosen as the winner for the #rrcb194 Challenge and now I have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for the this challenge.  Thank you Design Team for choosing my card!  I love to play with the old stamps and it's a real treat to join the team for this fun challenge.

This card is also inspired by my dad.  His birthday is January 27th.  I miss him everyday and have very fond memories of our apple orchard.  This branch is an apple blossom branch to my eye, and its dads' birthday, so of course I have to stamp with it!

***  The Trix  ***

*  Stamp the image with Memento Black Ink and colour in with Flirty Flamingo, Soft Succulent & Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers.  *Trix* add a bit of Wink of Stella® Clear Glitter Brush, #141897 to the branch to give it a silvery look.

*  Adhere the stamped 4 x 4 piece of Very Vanilla to a Basic White layer a smidge bigger (1/16th of an inch) and then adhere to a Very Vanilla 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.

*  Heat Emboss the sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder, #155555

*  Create a Very Vanilla 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" band of texture with the Stripes from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder, #157980 and adhere with dimensionals.  Embellish with Festive Pearls, #159963

***  Click here to shop the current products and consider using Wisteria Wishes Stamp Set, #159434, or Garden Birdhouses, #155090 as alternative stamp sets.

I'm not sure the age of this stamp set, maybe around 2007.  The stamp was an old style clear mount.  Here's a *Trix* if you have one of these old sets, and the 'cling' doesn't grab the clear block as well, try adding a bit of Tombow Removable Adhesive to the cling side, it will grip the clear block.

Something Fancy Stamp Set with Free DSP for #jai637

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge over @ Just Add Ink .  If you'd like to give this sketch a try click the hyperlink, or the image below to visit the blog challenge post and see what you can create.

I tried to create a card with colours from my friends favourite football team, using the Dandy Designs DSP  from Sale-a-bration, #160836.  It's free while supplies last with a $120 order 'til February 28th 2023.  How did I do, can you guess the football team?

***  The Trix ***

* Angles on a card always challenge me a bit, but I think I figured out a *Trix* for this one.  After cutting the angle pieces from two coordinating 4 x 5 1/4 pieces of dsp glue them to a 4 x 5 1/2 piece of vellum before adhering them to the Bermuda Bay cardstock layer.  The Multipurpose Glue allows you to squish them into place evenly on the vellum layer.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set, #160416 on Basic White then cut out with a Stylish Shapes, #158183 circle die.  Adhere the circle to a Bermuda Bay Stylish Shapes banner die.

*  The card base is Night of Navy.  Is your guess correct? The answer is the Miami Dophins - Navy, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, & Mango Melody.  (& yes, when I compared the colours online, I thought Mango Melody was closer to the orange they use than Pumpkin Pie).

Ready To Ride DSP & Something Fancy Bundle for #hssic406 & #gdp378

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by the Sketch Challenge over @ Global Design Project and the Inspiration Challenge over @ Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge.  Please click on the hyperlinks or the images below to visit the blogs and enjoy the inspiration.

***  The Trix  ***

*  Keep the colour palette simple - the #hssic406 picture inspired the black, white & red  focus of my card - I love that sweet little kitty in the pic, 'she' reminds me of my childhood cat named Cleo :)  Anyway,.... the card base is Basic Black, with a 1" strip of wrenches from the Ready To Ride Specialty DSP, #160752.  The Basic White Tag is from the Something Fancy Dies, #160425 and the Cherry Cobbler hearts are from the Country Bouquet Punch, #160382.

*  Balance the scale of the patterns - the wrenches on the strip of dsp are large, but the pattern created by the Metal Plate 3DEmbossing Folder, #160766 are smaller, they work together.  I think the rule of thumb when mixing patterns is to vary the size of the pattern.

*  The extras - tie the tag on the card with Black Bakers Twine, #155475 *Trix* the tag isn't really tied on, it's held in place with dimensionals, but I did tie the twine around the Basic Black, DPS, and embossed layer layer, then through the tag and tied a bow, before gluing it to the card base.  Embellish with hearts - no extra gems are needed - just like the sentiment says 'Nothing Fancy Just Love'
