Delicate Dahlias for FMS #497

 Hello and thanks for visiting today!

Today's card was inspired by Jacquie's Sketch Challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  And of course the Delicate Dahlia stamp that is oh so beautiful and *Free* during Sale a-bration (SAB)  Click here, to see the free Delicate Dahlias stamp set available 'til September 30, 2021 with a $120 purchase.

My interpretation of the sketch was to add twine to create the neat pattern on top of the stamped images.  This stamp set is so fun to create with because you can create different colour combinations just as you'd find in a gorgeous bunch of Dahlia's.  I love the combo of white and gold twine together.  Can you find the little bee?  

I hope my card inspires you to create a beautiful background with one of your favourite stamp sets.  Remember keep it Summertime Easy and create a SIP card, but if the embellishments call out to you- put them on the card :)

4 1/ x 5 1/2 Thick Basic White card base ( 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half)

4 x 5 1/4 Basic White cardstock (CS) layer

3/8 piece of Basic White CS for sentiment

Delicate Dahlia's stamp set. 

Inks:  Highland Heather; Cajun Craze; Gorgeous Grape

Embellishments: White Baker's Twine; Gold Simply Elegant Trim; Bumblebee Trinket

Assembly & Trix:

*  Stamp the Dahlia stamp using Highland Heather & Cajun Craze.  ***Trix, I practice with colour combos on scrap paper first.  Change the intensity of the colour with generational stamping and find the combo that you like best.

*  Stamp the sentiment using Gorgeous Grape.  ***Trix, The sentiment is small amidst a big overall background pattern, stamping it with a darker image helps it to stand out. 

*  Wrap twine around the card as shown.  ***Trix, I adhere the twine to the back of the card using Stampin' Seal and some glue dots to hold the gold twine in place,

*  Adhere the sentiment using Stampin Dimensionals.

*  Adhere the stamped layer to the card base with dimensionals.

Sale a-brate with Delicate Dahlias

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's SIP card (Stamps Ink & Paper) is created with the free Sale a-bration stamp set called Delicate Dahlias.  I have a hard time growing Dahlias in my garden, so I'm making a card instead! And, my dad used to always say "Thank you Kindly", so when I saw this stamp set it really spoke to me.

I absolutely love the variety of colours of Dahlias, but I think the pink and terra cotta shades are my favourite, so I chose Cajun Craze and Flirty Flamingo but I think I'm going to make a few more and mix 'em up a bit and see what I can create.  

And here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White card base  ( 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half landscape orientation)

1 1/8 x 5 1/2 Basic White strip

Ink:  Cajun Craze & Flirty Flamingo

Assembly & Trix

*  I chose Basic White cardstock (CS) for this card because it is a single layer card for the most part.  Even tho' I used a band, it isn't adding much weight, there are no embellishments on the card to add weight either.  I recommend Thick Basic white for most card bases.  

*  SIP card are super simple because literally all you do is stamp!  I chose to vary the intensity of colour using generational stamping - what does that mean you ask?....

*  Ink up the Delicate Dahlia with Flirty Flamingo and stamp on the card, then stamp again without reinking.  The 1st stamped image is Generation 1, the 2nd image is generation 2.   You choice of colour will change the look of the card.  Darker colours can often be stamped three times.  

*  Stamp using Cajun Craze ink.  ***Trix, I chose to use the Cajun Craze last because it is the darkest, this adds visual dimension to the card.

*  Using the Paper Trimmer, score 1/8 of and inch in from either side on the strip of Basic White.  Then stamp the sentiment using Cajun Craze.  

*  Adhere the sentiment band using Multipurpose Liquid Glue!

Assembly & Trix:

*  Stamp the sentiment and die cut using the Tasteful Label from the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock.

*  Using the Stamparatus™ stamp the Delicate Dahlia three times using the above colours, and add more ink with the sponge daubers.  ***Trix, move the CS around on the Stamparatus™ to align the flowers in a grouping of three while keeping the dahlia in place, end with the Fresh Freesia flower on the bottom and keep the card in place.

*  Lay the label on top of the dahlias, and stamp again using Fresh Freesia.  ***Trix, now the label is perfectly aligned with the dahlia and when raised on Stampin' Dimensionals will add depth to the card.  

*  Emboss the stamped layer with the Tasteful Texture embossing folder.

*  Adhere the twine to the back of the label using Stampin' Seal then adhere to the stamped layer using dimensionals.

*  Adhere the two strips of Be Dazzling paper to the stamped layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue)  ***Trix, I used glue and set it aside to dry for a minute, the glimmer accent on this paper requires a strong adhesive.  Stampin' Seal Plus and Tear & Tape Adhesive will also probably work but I didn't have them with me at the time.

*  Adhere the Kraft paper layer to the stamped layer with glue and then adhere the entire layer to the card base with glue.

Whimsy & Wonder Suite Simple Christmas Card #1

Hello and thanks for visiting! 

Today's card is super simple and features the new Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) available Aug 3rd from the new Mini Catalogue.  Honestly I must admit I have difficulty making Christmas Cards in July and August, but every Christmas season I wish I had started creating earlier, so this year I'm trying to be more organized :)

I chose the Whimsy & Wonder paper because it does not have any red in it - ha, and it's full of shimmer and glimmer which I absolutely love!  Hopefully my pictures caught the iridescent beauty of this paper.   And I hope this simple card has inspired you to begin creating for Christmas.

And here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Thick Basic White card base (4 1/4 x 11 folded in half portrait orientation)

2 x 5 1/2 Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper (dsp) Item # 156329

Basic White cardstock (CS) for the sentiment

Assembly & Trix:

*  Adhere both dsp layers using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue) as shown.

*  Stamp the sentiment and tree image using Mint Macron ink.

*  Die cut the tag shape and adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals. 

*  Embellish with trim.  ***Trix, tie the bow first and then adhere using a glue dot, its less cumbersome than fitting the trim through the hole of the tag when using a double bow as shown.   Simple, that's it, one Christmas card down :)
