A Chalkboard Christmas Greeting for 2 Challenges

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by two challenges, the Christmas Chalkboard over @ Fusion Card Challenge and the Just Add Ink Choose Two Challenge!   I love the photo Fusion has shared as inspiration and I wanted to try to recreate it with some of my favourite stamp sets.  My two choices for #jai632 are deer and trees - however I've added sparkle but it's super hard to capture in the photo of my card.   Please click the hyperlinks to visit the blog challenges and enjoy the inspiration!

I also created this card for a special couple who love nature and have a silver and white theme going this Christmas, trust me the silver glimmer shows up beautifully in person :)

***  The Trix  ***

*  I found the Stamparatus helpful for this card, but I also used my little 'A' block for the snowflakes and the fox, as well as the 'C' block for the snow by the polar bear.

*  Use a blending brush to lightly add White Craft Ink, #147277 to the 4" x 5 1/4" inch piece of Basic Black cardstock to give a brushed chalkboard look to the cardstock.

*  Use your favourite stamp sets, and line up the images on the Stamparatus.  I used the Brightest Glow Stamp Set, #159542 & three of my faves from last year, now retired, Arctic Bears, Peaceful Cabin & Nature's Beauty.  Stamp with White Craft Ink and allow to dry.  (Craft Ink is 'pigment ink' it has a longer 'open' time)

*  Add a tiny  Basic White cardstock layer (a 1/16" of an inch) as a border for the stamped layer before adhering to the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Basic Black card base.

*  Lightly brush on Wink Of Stella® Clear Glitter, #141897 to select areas of the stamped image.  The look I was going for was moonlight shining down and highlighting the sparkle of snow on the trees, the snow covered ground, the top of the deer's back etc.

Go to Greetings with the Chic Dies for #CASColurs&Sketches

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's fun little 4 x 4 note card is inspired by Cécile's Double Challenge #498 over @ CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  Please click the hyperlink to visit this fun challenge and enjoy the inspiration!

The double challenge is to use Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky & Always Artichoke with the fun sketch challenge below.  If you don't' have these colours try Petal Pink, Pool Party & Mossy Meadow.

***  The Trix ***

*  Plan where you want the flowers to go and stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, #158763 just below the band of flowers.

*  Dab a bit of glue on the flower shapes from the Chic Dies, #158815 and allow to dry briefly so the glue doesn't seep out when you adhere the flowers to the card base.

*  Darken a second Pink Pirouette cardstock flower with a Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends Marker and adhere just one edge of the flower to the first flower to give the flowers depth and dimension.

*  Double up the glue dots on the two Always Artichoke flowers for dimension and lift.

***  Click here to shop and please remember to use the monthly Host Code, (found on the right sidebar of this blog post) when your order is between $60 - $135 to receive a little thank you from me.

A Paper Pumpkin Alternative for #FMS564

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by Cécile's sketch over @ Freshly Made Sketches #564 & the Reindeer from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit.   Please click the hyperlink to visit the #FMS564 blog post and enjoy the beautiful interpretations of Cécile's sketch.

I really love this reindeer stamp, it stamps beautifully clear, there's words, dots and the solid image all on one photopolymer stamp, the image is sharp and clean!

*  Choose a subtle embossing folder to keep the card clean & simple as per the sketch.  I chose to add a slight bit of texture with a retired embossing folder.  I think keeping the cardstock layer and the card base the same Basic White, while adding a bit of texture, helps gives dimension without adding visual clutter.

*  The snowflakes are from a retired fave, Snowfall Thinlits Dies, I chose this die set because I wanted three different sized snowflakes, initially I was going to use the Chic Dies #158815.  ***Trix, dab a bit of glue in the centre of the snowflake only, allow to dry slightly before adhering to the card, then flick up the edge of the snowflakes.
