Nature's Pace for the Retro Challenge

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is for the Retro Rubber Challenge #183 - Anything Goes.  Click here to visit their blog post and enjoy the inspiration!

This card has been on my mind for the past two weeks, I can't believe its the last day of the challenge, where is the time going this spring!

I think this stamp is one of the first cling stamps Stampin' Up!® introduced, the image sticker that sticks to the red rubber isn't as sticky as our present Cling Stamps.  So I'm going to say mid 2000's maybe for the age of the stamp.

Assembly & Trix:

***Trix, distress the edges of a piece of Kraft 6x6 Paper, #156325 a smidge smaller than the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White card base.  Use old scissors and then crumple the paper to soften the paper fibers.  Blend on a bit of Crumb Cake ink, so it works into the folds of the paper adding to the distressed look.  Adhere to the card base with glue.  ***Trix, put glue on the card base and then smooth on the distressed Kraft layer.

*  Dry emboss the Kraft 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

*  Die cut the edges of the three 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 cardstock layers, (Kraft, Basic White & Basic Black) using an edge die from the new Blossoming Happiness Dies, #158823   ***Trix, line up the holes of the three layers, tie a piece of Black Bakers Twine through one of the top holes, stick the layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, but only apply glue to the top half of the layers for added dimension.  I'm hoping it looks like an old journal?  What do you think?  Adhere to the card base with dimensionals.

*  Heat Emboss the bee using Black Embossing Powder on a scrap piece of Kraft Paper, then die cut with the retired Stitched Shapes Framelits™

*  Adhere the embossed oval to a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 with dimensionals.  Here's my question, does a card front always need a sentiment?

I hope my card inspires you to take a single image you love and create a beautiful card!
